York Tavern in Oak Brook

So excited to have found this place! Good place for a great steak sandwich!!! Atmosphere is very pleasant, wish they had a couple more TVs for game day.

The service is great as usual ask for Sara. Margo behind the bar is spot on. I had the ribs . They fell off the bone. I will come back.

Great location right by Salt Creek on York road. Good parking. Cozy atmosphere. We liked the food-- salad with salmon and vegetable panini. Price was reasonable. Good service by Mindy was appreciated.

I'll sum this up quickly in two words - hidden gem. Never knew this place existed until our bridge club met there. What a great place!

Great place with so much history. I can remember coming here as a kid in the 80's when the only thing to eat were excellent burgers. It's a lot different now with a much larger Italian inspired menu. The burgers are unfortunately not the same. Good, but not the same.

York Tavern has been on this spot for a long time and is perfectly suited to stopping for a drink and snack after a walk around Salt Creek and the Graue Mill. Good menu, with a number of salads as well as meaty dishes. my friend had a mask during the lockdown days and so she went in and handled the ordering. C'est la vie!

If your looking for a quite place this is not it.Very nice place but cramped and noisey, food was okay and a bit over priced considering you get plastic silverware. Service by Mindy was great, will have to try the pizza next time.

Food was terrible, I ordered an antipasto salad that was almost all lettuce. The salami on it was brown and had turned bad. They wouldn’t do anything at all about it. My husband’s burger was mediocre at best. Service was terribly slow and we could hear other customers complaining. Would not recommend to others or go back.

Old local style tavern. Pizza was good. Draft beer selection was not great unfortunately.

Great burgers at the end of the south end of the Salt Creek Path.

We sat outside and it took several minutes until our server came over and introduced herself. I will note another server walked up and asked without greeting us do you need something? I said yes service would be great and that’s when she got our server. But the other server for the other tables that greeted us first seemed very cold and borderline rude. So then the service we had to ask for refills on our drinks several times and the server tried to charge us 3.00 for a soda refill so be careful and look at your bill. We complained and she took it off. The food was good but the service needs a lot of work there. I understand most restaurants are understaffed and have younger inexperienced servers but this was not a good experience for going out to eat. I hope this was just a onetime thing. Seems like a very popular restaurant otherwise.

The York is very good. Good food and and nice atmosphere for drinks. Kinda crowded for lunch.

Bartender has more gossip than my mom's book club, forcing a smirk that I desperately needed. York Tavern offers a comfortable atmosphere with reasonable prices; I plan on returning.

Family and friendly place to eat good food.

Don't eat here unless your super hungry and there's no where else to go. We gave it a 1st try, then a 2nd try. We thought what the heck. Maybe the1st2 times there were having a bad day. Well......that wasn't the case. Orders were all messed up. We can kind of forgive that BUT the waitstaff is awful. People waiting to be seated and the women think it's more important to flirt and talk with the men at the bar. My husband had to shout EXCUSE ME to get their attention. They also make you feel like you owe them something. BAD BAD SERVICE. There won't be a 4th time for this restaurant.

I honestly think they have the best food I've ever tasted! I live in Brookfield and fish by the graw mill and never thought of eating here bc I figured it had just bar food. I'm so glad I ordered here recently bc I'm obsessed with there food. I ordered the the calimari, fried and grilled. Seriously 10 out if 10 stars bc it's perfect. Amazing taste and not tough or rubbery . I also got a pizza with bacon and pepperoni that was perfect in every way. The cheesy garlic bread was also the best in quality. I can not wait to try the rest of their menu. I could not be any more impressed by the quality and price of their food.

This restaurant is the one I always prefer. I eat in many restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The stuff is very professional and the cuisine they offer is so tasty. I never decline to have a decent meal in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Very nice lighting and location. The bartender was super friendly and drink prices were very reasonable. I would definetly recommend this place for someone looking to have a drink and bite to eat with some family or friends. This place is awesome.

The waitress was nice..I loved the cheeseburger and fries and calamarie..Huge and delicious.its a cozy and comfortable place..We are going again.

Small restaurant and tavern. Very homey, corner bar feel. Fabulous burgers and an extensive menu. Quick, friendly service. A great surprise.

So glad to be back at York Tavern! Outside seating is very well done.

My son took our family to the York Tavern recently for lunch. We had pizza and some other menu items and the food was good. The Tavern is small and quaint with limited seating mostly occupied by regular customers. The staff was friendly and efficient and responsive . The Tavern is adjacent a beautiful Park, so after eating you can stroll through the woods along the river on a walking path and enjoy some outdoors. If you are visiting the area it is well worth checking out. If you live nearby the York Tavern you are lucky!

Great cheeseburger and weisbier. Pizza made in house. Sandwiches, ribs, sides. Full bar. Quaint spot on York road. Sooo good!!!

Love the food. Service was great. Only down side is that its loud and you can end up sharing a table
